Dog Registration Essentials

New dogs must complete sufficient trial visits to ensure suitability for day care or boarding. This usually consists of a day care trial of about 6 hours and where applicable, an overnight trial.

  • We can only accept small and medium size dogs.
  • We can only accept non-aggressive dogs that we assess to be safe.
  • Dogs must have a good level of socialisation towards people and other dogs.
  • Dogs cannot be overly boisterous or bark excessively (evaluated at meeting & trial).
  • All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and vet approved flea and worm treatments.
  • You must provide a copy (printed or photo) of your dogs up to date vaccination record.
  • Adult male dogs should ideally be neutered. Adult female dogs must not attend if in season or until two weeks have passed since finishing season.
  • Puppies are welcome subject to behaviour.

Registration Process

1) Query

Provided the essentials above are met please complete the relevant query form below.

Please also take a look at our Information Sheet to get an idea of where your dog will be staying.

2) Registration form

I will check your initial query and see if I can fit your pet in.

If your query is possible I will then ask you to complete our relevant registration form below.

The registration form will usually take between 10-30 minutes to fully complete. I advise completing it on a computer, but it should work on most phones/tablets too.

3) Meet and Greet

Dogs
This is a great opportunity to meet each other and make a decision on whether your dog will be suitable for stay (and if you will be happy to leave them here!)
I will need a photo of your pet’s up-to-date vaccination record before visiting!

Cats
We will arrange a date & time for me to come and visit you and your cat. We can have a chat about what you need and discuss where all the things are stored etc.

4) Trial Process (dogs only)

As part of the licencing requirements we have to conduct sufficient trial visits. If everything goes smoothly, we will arrange a date for your dog to come to stay with us for around 6 hours. This is usually sufficient to get a good feel for compatibility. This will also usually suffice for day care dogs.

Potential boarders will then do an overnight trial stay. This is usually a 7pm arrival and a pick up the next day in the morning.

Trial visits are charged at the standard rate for Day Care and Boarding.

This is usually the end of the formal trial process, but we may ask you for more trials if deemed necessary. Where possible we can also do extra settling in days.

5) Completed Registration

Once the formal trials are passed for dogs, your dog is registered.

You and your pet will be enrolled on the My Pet Walker management system.

Information and download links are on the My Pet Walker page.
